Whenever people talk about their “college experience”, I always smile because mine brings back so many incredible and defining memories. I loved my experience as an undergrad at Lipscomb. Because the university is relatively small compared to many others, it allowed for a lot of opportunity to develop and cultivate relationships with my peers, but even more so with my professors. I can think of so many professors that went out of their way to offer encouragement and support within my department especially, but also those with whom I might have taken one class during all 4 years. I remember distinctly my physics professor holding exam study sessions at his house for those of us who needed a little extra help. And my communications professor making it a requirement for us to have at least one office meeting(regardless of whether or not we needed help in the class) in order for him to get to know every student in his classes every single semester. Due to the incredible positive and welcoming nature of the faculty, this filtered too into the staff, and student body as well and created an experience that I truly believe helped shape me into the person I am. It has become my intent to make every interaction that I have with someone, no matter how small, a positive experience if possible. I was welcomed and loved and supported throughout a very definitive four years, and I continue to strive to pass that on. I would recommend Lipscomb to any student looking for not only top tier education, but an environment that will also support, nurture and do everything they can to set you up to succeed with whatever you choose to do with your career.
