Kean University has been educating students since 1855. Its founder was Stephen Congar. Initially, the purpose of the institution was to be a teacher-education college. Due to that, in 1937, the school became New Jersey Teachers College. During the post-war period, the demand for a more comprehensive curriculum increased. Thus, the college started to provide a wider range of academic programmes.Show more
