A Foundation for Dreams
As a student in the School of Theatre and Dance, it is quite the privilege to share a home with some of the most notable actors and actresses in Hollywood such as Gary Sinise, Jane Lynch, and Craig Robinson. ISU’s theatre program has challenged me to step outside my comfort zone and learn a variety of skills involved in the world of theatres such as costumes and lighting, and pick up the many aspects that go into filmmaking and television. The professors and courses are exceptional and remind me daily of why I love learning and the reason I chose my course of study. As a minority, I have always felt comfortable expressing myself and my culture at Illinois State University, and it is so inspiring to see other minorities be incredibly successful at what they do and encourage others to showcase their art to the world. Student life is one of my favourite aspects of my school, as I have met and come across hobbies and passions that I love and the most supportive people to go along with it.
