Student review [#64997] for Biology
at Hobart and William Smith Colleges

Academically: HWS offers a wide range of courses, I have had great experiences in the Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, English, and History Departments. Small class sizes ensure that professors know who you are and help you if requested.
Campus: The campus is widespread and home to a plethora of academic buildings. The science buildings are outdated but are due to get remodeled in the next few years. Dining options are OK, but close early, I’d recommend the Cellar Pub. On campus living situations range from person to person, but I’ve lucked out years with great rooms. You can live off campus as a Senior as of 2023.
The City: Based in Geneva, New York on the largest Finger Lake, Senca Lake, you will never run out of cool activities! The lake is swimmable in late spring, summer, and early fall. There are ski mountains just 35 minutes away during the harsh winters.
Overall, I’d recommend HWS for any nature loving student who wants to be known as an individual.
