George Mason University is a unique school. The only major sports team is basketball, and even then game attendance is probably lower than most colleges of the same caliber. All of this tells me that GMU is an academically oriented university, and for the most part, the student body shows that. Everyone here is trying to get the best education possible. And GMU is doing its best to provide that education. I’ve never had a professor make a class so unbearable that I couldn’t take it anymore. They have many activities for socializing all year round. They stress the importance of mental health and have resources you can use to help with anxiety, ADHD, depression, etc. The dining rooms are decent if you’re not the fussy eater. A clean campus for the most part. A few issues with freshman halls when I first went to GMU. Safety comes first, often overlooked by many prospective students. George Mason and the location in Fairfax and the Greater DC Area are incredibly safe and feel as such. I can’t understand how anyone can’t enjoy an experience at George Mason University.
