Here is my honest review as a former engineering student here. Many of the professors were great despite their lackluster teaching style, so they would give you a lot of support if you visited them during office hours. They were definitely overworked because there were only a handful of professors teaching multiple courses that was not related to their specialty.
I am most disappointed in the lack of labs and resources. There were not many labs for classes, and I feel like the school failed to teach us the equipment. We did not have the opportunity to use many of the rooms and equipment. Many of the classrooms were turned into research centers that specific organizations have hogged despite the lack of research results. Job fairs were always underwhelming. There were not a lot of employers for EECS students, so there were not as many opportunities for FAU EECS students compared to other FL state universities.
If you’re in engineering, Find Another Univeristy (FAU).
View moreFAU is such an underrated school. Being in Boca Raton, it is close to both Miami and Palm Beach. There are so many clubs and activities at the school that it’s impossible to not find something to do on your down time. I really enjoyed my time there and hope the school gets more recognition.
View moreThere are a lot of things in that area. You can easily get to Miami and west Palm. The campus is not too big so if you keep going to a lot of specific events and clubs, it is easy to make friends. A lot of clubs and events at the school. Has a gym, group workout classes, rock climbing, different sports to play for a team officially of just for fun. Has torturing services and things for mental health (therapy) or health (clinic) in general. Has studying abroad opportunities. Most of the students are white but there is a huge number of diversity. If you want to see ppl from your background , you can just go to specific clubs and events. Also, very close to the beach!
View moreFAU gained national recognition for student success initiatives and upward social mobility. The campus is modern and vibrant, with new facilities and a growing research presence, especially in artificial intelligence and biomedical science. Overall, it’s a good university offering strong academics, research, and campus life at a relatively affordable cost.
View moreI loved FAU for it’s student activities from the cookouts to late night parties.
The professors were great and definitely a diverse group of people 10/10 WOULD RECCOMMEND!
The campus is an hour away from Miami, too…
