Are you passionate about the business and finance sector? Do you follow the national and international news? Then, an Economics degree is the answer. It has always been one of the most sought-after degrees amongst youth.
Economics degrees are designed to tackle all the issues that have an impact on financial situations, ranging from production to how resources are used. Candidates are trained to understand how the economy suffers fluctuations based on the market’s needs and wants followed by the market’s supply and demand.
By far one of the most crucial elements is that economics is divided into microeconomics and macroeconomic. Microeconomics deals with the economic behaviour at an individual level (companies, buyers, sellers and others), whilst macroeconomics illustrates the bigger picture, on a national or global scale (unemployment, economic growth, inflation and so on).
Having an economics degree increases anyone’s chances to find a job, regardless of the field. This is mainly due to the fact that graduates hold many transferable abilities, such as analytical and problem-solving skills, that are suitable for any career.
A study made by the London School of Economics and Political Science showed that graduates from an economics course have a starting salary of £33,000 per year. Having a job in the field right after graduation is a major positive aspect and comes with a lot of opportunities for career advancement.
Economics degrees are usually a three years commitment and sometimes are offered as part of a joint degree. This means that Economics can be studied along with another subject such as engineering, management, law, computer science and others.
This degree can be found either as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA). The BSc focuses more on economical theory and statistical techniques, while BA is combined with social sciences and qualitative modules.
I truly love my university—it has offered me countless opportunities to explore who I am and what I want to pursue. I’ve always appreciated the wide range of academic choices and the freedom to shape my own path. However, I do feel that the academic pressure can be overwhelming at times. The quarter system, while fast-paced and dynamic, often feels extremely intense and leaves little room to slow down and reflect.

View moreMany generations of my relatives attended University of California-Davis, so I chose to attend there because it is a top institution. The academic staff here is likewise outstanding. You often have to adjust to a teacher’s teaching style even if it’s not your favorite. They genuinely want you to succeed, so you can always drop by during business hours to obtain assistance. The university is lovely, and being there makes you feel like you’re in the middle of nature.
View moreUC Davis is a premier public university with a fantastic campus. It is broad in thought and has excellent procedures in place for helping students. The lecturers are smart and compassionate, and the students are pleasant. Despite not having the most vibrant social scene, the town is a true college town that values economy and its surroundings.
View moreI adore the spirit that permeates this classroom as the students do everything in their power to help you. Contributing to this is the fact that dorm life on campus is quite social, with everyone coming around to spend time and form bonds, particularly with those who reside in a local dorm. Even as a first-year student without a car, the community is relatively simple to traverse. UC Davis is a wonderful, all-encompassing university.
View moreDavis is a stunning, lush town. The school itself is gorgeous. We absolutely enjoy cycling every day to school because it is so big. The Memerial Union, or MU as we know it, is the area of our institution that I enjoy the most. It’s a great spot to study since this is where the majority of the school’s cuisine where it is situated. This area is where folks congregate and is particularly emblematic in the school.
View moreClasses at this school require hard work to be successful. You really need to put in the work if you want to maintain your GPA because some of the teachers are really hit or miss. GE classes can be annoying, so pick wisely based on your strengths and weaknesses academically.
