Fort Collins is a big city. Although it doesn’t have that big city feel, there are plenty of activities. Unfortunately, not much happens at night, which is why house parties are often held on campus. Getting around the town isn’t particularly difficult and there are excellent shops almost everywhere. Fort Collins has no shortage of restaurants, breweries and bars that attract students throughout the week. The foothills offer a great outdoor recreation area, including Horsetooth Rock and Reservoir, and many hiking and biking trails. There are several ski resorts not far from Fort Collins that students often visit during the winter months. Denver is only about 60 miles from campus and offers an alternative place to visit. Here, students can watch games at Broncos Stadium or spend a day at Six Flags Elitch Gardens. Boulder is even closer and offers students another university to visit and the Redrocks Amphitheater where big bands often play.
