HUHS is your friend – Every student must pay a nominal health care fee each year. However, this includes everything from doctor’s appointments in case of illness, psychological counseling, vaccinations, dental care and care if you’ve had one too many on a Saturday night, all in a huge infirmary on the campus. While the infirmary staff can be slow and unresponsive when the place is busy, the doctors and professionals are excellent, which is what you would expect from a school affiliated with at least a dozen hospitals. As for campus security, there are constant security patrols in most cases, doors are locked at night, and very few incidents are reported on campus (the occasional off-campus assault is the only news) . The Harvard Square subway station occasionally hosts a few unsavory people, but the area is generally well lit and there are enough people 24/7 that you feel safe at all times.
View moreThere are many visitors on the Harvard Campus. No parking. Every off-campus student uses public transportation. You cannot imagine a better pursuit than academics. 85% of the population, in my opinion, is White or Asian, despite what the data claims. Teachers are amazing. I live outside the campus. The public transit system is reasonable. You can create the experience at Harvard however you want it to be. After graduating, find your group, explore your interests, and be prepared to travel anywhere in the globe.
