Student review [#34621] for Studio Art
at California State University Long Beach

Overall it’s a beautiful campus with some great faculty that I’ve been able to meet throughout my time here, however, as an art student, my experience with CSULB has been nothing but negative. The Fine Arts buildings have no proper air ventilation and either no AC or badly functioning AC. During the summer and especially during heat waves it is unbearably hot in there, and students have to step out on occasion due to the heat. There are other issues such as falling ceiling tiles (and students have been hit by them). The administration has only been offering short-term solutions and when walking around to survey how badly the heat was, they made light of the situation and had little empathy for the situation that their students and their staff were experiencing.
