    Biology Programme

The biology course at the University of York is varied, engaging and well-supported. It offers a wide range of different modules delivered by knowledgeable tutors that offer additional support if needed. Teaching occurs through a variety of methods, such as lectures, lab work and group seminars. I’ve found this particularly helpful for solidifying my understanding and keeping me engaged with the learning. The practicals are in-depth with the opportunity to develop different lab techniques.
The campus is open and green, with excellent library and sport facilities. It is also a short distance to the beautiful city of York, with its lively cafe culture and historical attractions. The student areas of the city are safe, however be prepared for costly accommodation from year 2 onwards.
The student’s union offers a huge range of societies, meaning that there is something for everybody!

I would definitely recommend York for the biology course and student life!
