My experience studying Politics & International Relations at the University of Southampton has been very positive. The programme is well structured, and the teaching quality stands out — lecturers are knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping students succeed. Classes are engaging, especially seminars, which encourage discussion and help build confidence in presenting ideas.
The university offers many opportunities outside the classroom. I’ve been able to take part in Model United Nations, international programmes, and political work experience, all of which have helped me grow academically and personally. Campus life is welcoming, and it’s easy to get involved in societies and meet people with similar interests.
Overall, Southampton provides a strong academic foundation, helpful staff, and a good student community. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a well-rounded university experience in the social sciences.
