Whilst the Oxford MSt is certainly a big help in searching for future jobs and further educational prospects, the course itself is somewhat constrictive in its focus. Rather than taking into account a plurality of perspectives and approaches to support student interests, the programme teaches almost singularly the perspectives of lecturers, which are almost without exception those of white, male, heterosexuals from a background of class privilege. As for student experience, the collegiate structure does aid in providing a smaller and more consistent social pool which is extremely helpful for forming relationships when starting at a new University, however, the nightlife in Oxford is somewhat lacklustre. Student experiences can also be costly making them less accessible for students from low-income backgrounds, especially at the graduate level where means-tested student loans are no longer available.
