I would definitely recommend this university because although my experience wasn’t plain sailing, the things I experienced in Leicester allowed me to grow as a person. Despite joining the university during covid, socialising was never difficult as there’s a very diverse student body at Leicester which means there’s someone for everyone. Our professors were very attentive and cared about our progress, always responding promptly to emails and providing extra guidance when requested. I think my four years were most definitely character building and I’m most definitely not the same person I was when I entered Leicester university; however I thank Leicester for that. The woman I am today wouldn’t exist had I not gone to Leicester. My programme included a year abroad and although I felt at the time that we were thrown in the deep end and left to figure it out, this taught me so much about being self sufficient, and thriving in environments that were not natural to me. I learnt to seize every opportunity because you’ll always learn something whether good or bad. I learnt that the independence I thought I had living in my uni town, 40 mins away from my home now, was nothing compared to moved abroad alone at 18.
