I studied Geography for 3 years gaining a BSc. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Leeds, both the university and the city. With it being such a big university, there were plenty of courses to chose from and a great range of social and other activities.
View moreThe wide choice of different societies to join is a particular stand out for me as there really is something for everyone. I would encourage all students to take advantage of this and join a society whatever your interest might be.
View moreBretton Hall no longer exists. It was affiliated to Leeds University and all degrees were confirmed by Leeds Univeristy. It was a unique place to study. It was an old mansion house that had been conveerted for student accomodation and for learnign spaces. As well as studying drama l was also in charge of the studenst shop. I would advise anybody going to coillege or university to get involved in other areas outside of your study area. Take on some other responsibilites which involve you meeting a lot of different people.
View moreThe university has a great balance of strong teaching as well as, in my experience, very supportive staff. The content is engaging and there is a great blend of didactic and experiential learning in teaching.
View moreFor me, Leeds truly ticks every box. It is one of those cities that manages to balance everything perfectly, from an exciting city lifestyle to a lively social scene and a strong academic reputation. There is always something going on, whether it is live music, art, food festivals, or nights out with friends. The city feels full of energy but still has that welcoming, friendly atmosphere that makes it easy to feel at home.
As a student, I have found Leeds to be the ideal place to study. The universities have great facilities and a real sense of community, and there is always support available when you need it. I love that everything is within walking distance, from the campus to the shops, bars, and cafes, which makes day-to-day life simple and enjoyable.
It is also a city that encourages independence and growth. Living and studying here has helped me become more confident, outgoing, and open-minded. Whether it is exploring the city, meeting new people, or taking advantage of new opportunities, Leeds offers something for everyone. I honestly could not recommend it enough. It is a city that perfectly combines opportunity, fun, and belonging.
