I believe the uni is a great place for a range of different people. it caters for those who want to take on a large role at the university, and also to those who prefer to stay out of the limelight. the campuses are all nice and easy to navigate. there is alot of student support and all the lectures/ seminar tutors i have had on my English course so far have all offered lots of help to enhance learning.
View moreThe University of Southampton is a welcoming space, open for students to express themselves and their worries about certain current issues. Given the recent cost of living crisis, for example, the university has promoted ways to support students who are affected by increasing costs. Some examples of this would be breakfasts offered on certain days, and the student advice centre, which offers help with living circumstances as well as other areas of wellbeing.
View moreDuring my time at Southampton University, not only did I improve academically, but I also flourished as an individual and became a woman. I studied English Literature and I was given the option to try out a variety of modules in my discipline and outside of my course. I took the opportunity to learn Italian alongside my degree. The course itself featured literature from many different time periods to provide you with a well-rounded education.
I loved being able to choose my own modules in my second and final years as it allowed me to follow my interests. I chose many modules associated with the history of feminism. The tutors are also incredibly lovely and if you ever have a question or need help for an essay, you are able to book meetings with them for guidance.
I would absolutely recommend this University to a friend, I even persuaded my brother to go!
