It’s been alright, both digitally and in person. Some professors are genuinely interested in seeing you succeed and are very encouraging and sympathetic. Being deaf, online learning has been really challenging, and some teachers don’t fully adapt to that.
View moreI did my undergraduate here and most of the degree took place during COVID-19. Despite the difficulties with remote learning, this institution managed to keep student engaged and provided us with all the support within their limits. As a result, remote learning was enjoyable, a lot more discussions about relevant subjects to our degree were being discussed in online forums, new relationships were formed between students from other courses as well as our own, all whilst developing our own knowledge as young scientists. I would highly recommend, as I cannot imagine how on-site learning would be, if remote learning was this good of an experience for me.
View moreI wouldn’t say I like this university for its specific life sciences department because they seem to always push forward with a marathon. They start at late times and finish at early times. As a student, I feel less absorbed by the modules I have encountered. The lecturers don’t have a passion for teaching, and are reflected in the students, who don’t seem to care about what they are doing. The system is incredibly flawed with the choices you want to make and the assignments that need to be tackled. If you plan to do life sciences as a degree at this university, please don’t because you will not get any learning experience when attending there.
View moreThe lecturers were very slow and failed to communicate about providing course work and exam feedback. When we questioned the lecturers about when we could expect course work feedback, they would simply brush it off. Lecturers and practicals were cancelled and the mode of delivery was disappointing.
View moreOverall a good experience so far, especially considering the first year of uni was online due to covid. But we’ve been given lots of good resources and lecturers have been helpful. There is also a lot of support put in place for students that need extra help.
