University of the arts London was definitely the school for me. It is full of creative inspirational people who all have the passion to achieve. I enjoyed the practical classes the most and meeting new people. I enjoyed walking round and seeing everyone’s amazing style. Being at this uni was the best experience as well as living in London and exploring the City.
View moreThe university is famous which gives me a good self-introduction title, and the university also have great commercial resource, I can attend many famous artists’ sharing sessions for free, I love this part. But I think most homework still need I learn things by myself, and the final outcome of the homework is still just “homework”, it is not enough and not good for business values.
View moreThe location of the school is very accessible and my classmates are all very individual and artistically creative. They are all talented and hard working. Our teachers are very responsible and the courses are well structured and interesting. However, sometimes the assignments make me feel a bit stressed and I know that university tasks are not easy, but I feel it pushes you to be creative and experimental. I just wish it was more practical. It pushes you to be creative and experimental.
View moreWas a great student throughout my course, unfortunately, the 1st year (when working on my final project) I suffered from SA and told my female tutor what happened, upon delivering my final project she pretended one of my projects was missing (which was not), making my grade significantly lower.
Overall I don’t recommend, foreign students are not treated like nationals and there is no support at all.
View moreThe course I did lacked technical classes and was a waste of 3 years. You came in to present projects to students and tutors, that’s it. Tutors’ feedback was often very general and had very little to do with your project. You could be making a comic and then be told to make expressive work for no reason. There were more students than services; these days it seems to be the norm to cram as many students as possible to fill spaces.
Tutors said there were lots of job prospects in art but there really isn’t. Unfortunately many I know including myself are working for min wage, some are unemployed and are now queuing up for benefits as they have reached a last resort. You will find yourself in this position after finishing the course. I wouldn’t recommend this uni as it sells a false dream.
