My university has lots of resources for Economics students, plenty of opportunities within the finance field. The new building is very warm and comfortable. I enjoy the library facilities. Also love the new extension.

Very diverse and good teaching. Welcoming environment. Lots of societies to join. Good teachers who provide lectures and follow up by hosting tutorials – this helps consolidate most of the content taught that week.

Being a new student, I haven’t spent a lot of time on campus or interacting with others, but in the short time I’ve been here, everyone has been incredibly kind and helpful. I think I’ll have a terrific time here, and the faculty seems excellent.

I like the program I have chosen and the modules. As a second-year student, I have the opportunity to choose 5 modules out of 8 which is great. I like the teaching methods and the variety of assessments, group presentations, mid-term tests, and final essays… Everything is well explained if you pay attention and the QMUL Plus is a great platform to find every information needed.
The only con is the location of the campus and the looks of it. The location is not safe.

I think, our profession is very useful, it contains a large number of financial courses, including practical financial, companies financial, securities shares some field courses, such as this for me for some financial qualifications certificate examination is useful, expectations for the future, I will greatly into the financial institutions, to become a financial professionals, To help you make better investment and financial analysis, I hope to further study financial knowledge.

I didn’t stay in the accommodation so can’t comment on that.
Facilities were good, I had all that I feel I needed to complete my work. There was generally always library space/ computer access in many different buildings to use.
I felt that some of the lecturers were not hard-working enough or considering the fact that many students come from backgrounds where English isn’t a first language. Eg. We had a module called banking law and the lecturer NOT even once gave us a model answer for how to write an essay style answer for our exams even though we begged for him to do this as a guide/ structure to help us to know what he is looking for in an essay style answer. That is just an example of what I mean by not hard-working/ considerate.

One of my modules in the first semester for my masters was very tough as I came from an unrelated undergraduate degree background. I learnt from the external teacher of that course that there is much pre-requisite knowledge that would have enabled me to do well and understand terminology and basics before starting the module but we had never been told this by the university we were thrown in at the deep end without warning (those with a non-finance background).

I think the careers department are great. So many useful resources such as access to accounts that help you practice employer style psychometric tests, meetings with advisors, continuous emails with career opportunities, continuous career fairs and events throughout the terms I can’t fault them with that.

This is my experience in the School of economics and finance and specifically investment banking masters course. It could be different within another department.

The campus has about 5 different sights to eat (one is a full-on student diner/ restaurant, one is 2 are cafes, and 1 is within the library. This is great as I’ve been to a university where there were only like 2.

The location Of the campus is close to 2 train stations 3-5 mins for one and 8-10mins for the other station which is helpful when running late for class or going home late at night! What would make it more ideal is if there was a close shopping centre or a collection of stores close by e.g. Superdrug, Boots or a Greggs, Mc Donald’s just more shops around would make it better.

As a student who lived at home and commuted for 3 years, I cannot talk about my experience with campus accommodation. The university is situated around 5-10 mins from Mile End station and also accessible from Stepney Green. It is very convenient to access on public transport.

In terms of the teaching, the lectures and problem sets are efficiently uploaded to our database QMPLUS. The majority of lecturers are proactive in recording their lectures and uploading solutions to the problem sets, however, there are a few lecturers that refuse. On the whole, to succeed you need to stay on top of your work and make use of the resources made available to you. The lecturers are concise and very comprehensive.

As far as student life is concerned, there are many social facilities I.e. the ground cafe, the hive, drapers etc. To take advantage of during your leisure time at uni.

Student advisors are allocated from day 1 up until graduation so make sure to take advantage of the incredible support system. Super friendly staff!

Overall great uni!!

Some of the teaching staff from tutorials is underprepared. They just read off answers but do not seem to have understanding. They need to be better prepared before taking this on. This obviously doesn’t apply to everyone

I like how social and friendly the people are, there is a sense of community. I like that everything is on campus and has a good location. It also has great diversity. The canteen has halal food which is also a bonus.

Friendly good atmosphere good places to study very welcoming student union lots to do around plenty of society events which accommodates many cultures weekly, lots of places to study relax with a large library
