The university is good, the standard of education is impressive and I’m always inspired by the people around me from their accomplishments to their depth of knowledge and most importantly how each individual carries themself. Personally, I believe the marking can be harsh so if you want that 1:1 you have to work extremely hard but once you achieve it, it is worth it. One of my favourite things about King’s College is the campus, it’s in the heart of London and has the best places to study, eat, and have a good time. However, one thing I will say is making friends in this uni may not be as easy as you think a lot of the time individuals prefer to stick to their old groups from sixth form or secondary but that is not to say you will not find friends because the beauty of a London university is you will be introduced to many individuals of various backgrounds.
View moreAs I embark on the final leg of my journey as a Politics student at King’s College London, I find myself compelled to share the extraordinary events that have moulded my academic career.
What distinguishes King’s is its unrelenting dedication to offering a complete and active political education. In my first year, I was introduced to the world of data analysis using STATA, a core ability that has since proved essential to my academic endeavours. This early immersion set the tone for a programme that constantly challenges and enhances pupils’ analytical abilities.
Exploration of game theory, a discipline that brings theoretical concepts to life and provides a unique perspective on political decision-making, has proven equally compelling. This multidisciplinary approach, along with extensive study of political theory and international relations, has resulted in a comprehensive grasp of the complex factors that drive global politics.
King’s strength resides not just in its curriculum, but also in the great teachers who act as guiding lights along this academic journey. Their enthusiasm for teaching and commitment to student development is obvious in every lecture, seminar and office hours.
Furthermore, King’s fosters an open and lively atmosphere that fosters both scholastic endeavours and personal growth. The Strand campus, with its rich history, provides an inspirational setting for intellectual inquiry.
If I were to sum up my feelings about King’s College London, it would be one of tremendous gratitude for the transforming experience it has provided me. The active curriculum, committed teachers, and fascinating environment not only provided me with a solid foundation in politics and political economy but also fostered in me a strong desire to learn more about this subject.
I definitely recommend King’s to any students looking for a dynamic and loving academic atmosphere. The range and depth of education available here, together with the rich history and welcoming community, distinguishes it as a standout institution in the field of higher education.
View moreBoth the setting and the campus are fantastic. It is stunning and real. I’d most certainly come back here for a second degree. King’s college has very intelligent academics that add value and intrigue to the classes.
View moreKing’s College has provided me with an educational experience that has helped me flourish academically as an individual. The well-rounded, and flexible nature of the course has meant that I have been able to learn about a broad range of topics, whilst still being in control of what I am learning. I have had a very positive experience with lecturers and seminar leader and the overall teaching standard. There have been some occasions where sufficient feedback hasn’t been provided and admin has been slow, however on the whole, I have had a very positive experience at King’s College London.
View moreI absolutely love studying at KCL. The quality of teaching is amazing, and I do enjoy a lot the broad variety of classes I can choose from. I am very keen to discuss it further during an interview and share my experience.
View moreThis major of KCL is composed of lectures and seminars, with an average of 4 courses per semester and 8 lessons per week. The teachers of the four different courses are different from each other, the class system is small, and the students do not share. So you have the opportunity to meet a lot of like-minded people. The school gave a lot of reading material and advice, but it was all self-awareness. Because even if you don’t study so seriously, it’s not easy for the teacher to notice or communicate with you. This is a very international school, and the official statement given by KCL is that it consists of 30% international students. But the international students in my class are even more than 65%, the ratio is very average, with not too many Chinese or Indians. I don’t think the career prospects of this major are very good, but it is a major that is very helpful for self-improvement and critical thinking. Therefore, I recommend people who have an industry at home, no employment pressure, are interested in logic and literature and are self-disciplined to study this major.
View moreI am an International Relations student at King’s and the modules that this course has to offer is of great interest to me. I find that many aspects of the course are not predominantly Eurocentric and extend to various geopolitical topics and issues for debate. I also receive good support with career prospects and undergraduate internship schemes that I can apply to and consider as a postgraduate career path. I would say that the personal tutor scheme could be improved in communication, in efforts to support students in any difficulties experienced with the course.
View moreI enjoy studying my course, religion, politics and society since it is broad and has taught me the interconnection between the three topics. I have always been intrigued by sociology and politics since I lived in 5 different countries with varying cultures and politics. One thing I did not enjoy about my course was the repetitiveness of some of the modules.
View moreMy programme of study is very interesting in the sense that it touches upon a lot of fields (economics, politics, international relations, war studies). What I like most about the programme is the way it forms you to understand not only how European Institutions work, but also how they relate with the global environment. I do the French pathway so I focus my studies on French politics and foreign policy. I will also have the opportunity to study abroad at one of the best political sciences universities in the world, Sciences Po Paris. The professors and seminar leaders are scholars that have worked with EU institutions and it is so interesting that this type of knowledge is being passed to us. Outside of classes, my programme invites me to societies and events that focus on European institutions, which provides me with the opportunity of networking with deputies and diplomats from around the world. I fully recommend this course as it is very engaging and very future-oriented!
View moreI really recommend kings, I’m doing the PPE programme, and the opportunities within the university have been great. I went to Singapore for a semester abroad which ended up being an incredible experience despite COVID, and I ended up saving money in tuition fees!
