    In the heart of London

This university provides the enriching and intellectual challenge that I was looking for when I came to study abroad here in the UK. The campus in the heart of London enhances my motivation to do well academically but allows me to explore the city and meet new people.

Highly Encourage Students to study at Kings

I had a great time at the university. Its right at the heart of London, opposite to River Thames. The quality of education is also exceptional. I studied International Development which was a one year course. I had a great learning experience, The department teachers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and always ready to help. They have extra hours apart from the allocated student teacher hours for consultations. Great experience!

The quality of the infrastructure/services available to students

Kings is a great university, located in a dynamic area of a global city. Students are welcomed in a safe and multicultural environment where teachers are there to accompany them and help them through their studies as well as personal lifes.

    A university looking to improve

    Course: International Development BA (Hons)

Infrastructure: the new Bush House building greatly enhances the learning environment (more study spaces, better food & drink outlets), compared to the old Strand building. The Maughan Library has many resources & study spaces.

Course/Education: the quality of lecturers is excellent, most of them being passionate and qualified teachers. The only two minor issues are:
1/ despite this quality, classes are not always intellectually stimulating, often there is an overlap between different courses, and the marking criterion is not always explicit.

2/ regarding module selection, there is not a lot of choice and should you resort to external modules (outside your home department), the process is long, complicated and not always available.

Student Life: making friends is easy since there are many societies, which would correspond to any students’ interests, in addition to being a very international university. Accommodation at King’s is not always the best. The current system allocating rooms randomly does not allow all students to benefit from adequate facilities. For example, rooms at Great Dover Street Apts. are old and poorly insulated for the price paid, in contrast to the newer facilities. It seems that they are trying to change this, fingers crossed for the future!

    International Development Review

I really enjoyed studying international Development at King’s! The department is very diverse whether it is relating to the student body, the professors, or the subjects available to study. I particularly liked the ‘political economy of entrepreneurship module’ as it provided me with practical skills to apply in my future careers. The development department has also moved to King’s newest building, Bush house, which is a great addition to the campus as it comprises a very big computer room, various cafés and places to eat like the King’s kitchen. I also loved the fact that the 8th floor of Bush house is now vegan and only serves dairy free drinks and vegan food. Lecture halls are spacious and modern, and the new building even has a gym!

Good three years as an undergraduate. You can choose from a variety of options and pick the ones you like the most in terms of modules, Professors are helpful when you go to them. It is a very international environment and you meet very nice and fun people.
