    Challenging yet rewarding and impersonal

Imperial is a world renowned research institution boasting challenging courses where you will learn practical skills and deepen your knowledge. Perfect for students looking for a challenge.
However, I find that your experience at Imperial is entirely course dependent. I am in a department that is has great communication between professors, and between the staff and students, but other courses have notoriously bad communication, which provides an impersonal and dissatisfactory student experience, to the point that some of the courses are under review for poor student satisfaction.
Overall, Imperial is what you make of it. It is a great place, with abounding opportunity, but only for the student that will take the initiative and make the most of the experience.

    A great place for learning

A good school with amazing job prospects. Also, it is an excellent place to learn with world-class teaching staff. The experience here is top-notch. The environment is serene to promote the teaching and learning process. A lot of experience can be gained here. Great infrastructures in this institution also, you have value for your money. The learning and teaching process is a big deal. Classes here are very effective, we are trained by professionals who are always willing to give their best. A friendly environment, a place to be.

    Chemical Engineering at Imperial

The staff and students are driven and extremely clever, making it a fast-paced learning environment. The professors are amazing but the only aspect lacking is student well-being, which has started this year. It’s an extremely hard course but worth it, as the job prospects and connections are very good.

    Top Range Facilities and Education

This University is an excellent one, filled with plenty opportunities to pursue niche interests and areas of study. I was offered a year abroad at Berkeley which only aided my studies further: alternative locations such as Singapore, France and Switzerland also exist.

A competitive environment with many opportunities

The university offers many opportunities outside of courses, also through the 300 clubs and societies, it boasts. Plenty of support is available and will be provided if requested.
The main negative side would be the competitive environment, with people around you that achieve so much and might make you feel like you are not doing enough.

    Good uni

Good staff and pastoral support, as well as job connections. Good places to eat and a wide selection of cuisines on campus. Great area with some excellent shops around the campus. Halls of residence are also good

    Genuinely love my uni

Imperial has great facilities, teaching and resources. But the best part of my university are the people. The sense of community you get here is like nowhere else. And the social events organised by the different societies are really good, especially because they are all planned to fit around your schedule.
I won’t lie, it is hard work and it takes a lot of energy to keep up with the course your studying. But at the end of the day it’s all worth it.

Imperial College London - MEng Chemical Engineering

Imperial provides a great foundation for you to launch your future career. The university makes a lot of effort to ensure students gain adequate theoretical knowledge, before learning how to deploy it effectively in a range of group projects and labs. The material is challenging, engaging, but most importantly; it is deeply interesting.

One thing that sets Imperial apart from other British universities is their supportive attitude towards students who wish to start a business. You can easily book a consultation in the Enterprise lab to get advice, and can even pick up mentors to guide you further in your journey. We even have our own start-up competition, which this year had a prize pool of £80,000.

Lastly, Imperial is situated in the midst of one of the greatest cities in the world: London. There’s never a shortage of things to do. Even within a ten minute walk of Imperial you have great attractions such as Hyde Park, the Natural History Museum and the Royal Albert Hall (where Imperial’s graduation ceremony is held). Club nights out are quite simply better than any of your friends’ at other unis, thanks to the plethora of options available.

Great university with enthusiastic professors in the centre of London

Imperial is a university that puts emphasis not only on students’ acquiring of theoretical knowledge, but also focuses on their future careers, having a lot of career fairs and mailing lists as well as careers service on campus. Most professors in my department are truly enthusiastic about the subjects they teach and are very open to all questions, responding to emails quite quickly and answering questions after the lectures. What I liked is that we had a lot of group projects and lab work outside of the lectures, which allowed us to learn how to solve real-life engineering problems. The student-department communication is usually quite good, most issues are solved with the professors by student representatives and I feel like they usually really try to take our opinion into consideration and solve the problems we have whenever that is possible.
Imperial is located in South Kensington, in zone 1 of London, which means that it is right next to some of London’s big tourist attractions: the Museums, Royal Albert Hall or Hyde Park.
My overall feeling about this place is that Imperial is definitely a challenging university and you should be ready for a lot of work, but this means you will find a lot of inspiring and original people in here, and experience cultures from all over the world, which is, in my opinion, a fascinating experience.
