I enjoyed my experience in GCU. The Campus was located at the heart of the town with easy access to the city center and bus/ train routes. The various lecture halls were well defined with tags and descriptive signages to enable one locate them with ease. The lectures were well defined with adequate information and robust course content that is applicable in the current industry. The professors were readily available to provide clarifications to students when necessary. Campus life was fun and enjoyable. there were various activities that students could engage in, in the students association building, we also had a gym and sports complex.

However, as the years progressed the work became less technical and experimental based, navigating towards a more theoretical approach to learning. This could be partially due to covid circumstances, however, online classes for the most part were able to be sustained throughout teaching and support was readily available. If I had to redesign the course I would include more technical experience opportunities for mechanical students, as at times it is difficult to visualise what you are studying in practice when all you have seen of industrial used machines are pictures. I would also recommend course leaders advocate for site visits/experienced engineer presentations and trips to further engage students.
