A business cannot survive if its products are not marketed in the proper way. Luckily for all the businesses out there, the number of candidates wanting to pursue a marketing career is growing tremendously.
The aim of this degree is to help students anticipate, manage, and satisfy customers’ needs and wants. By doing so, they will be able to effectively communicate the benefits of any business product to the targeted market.
Due to the fact that marketing is a complex industry, which tackles many areas ranging from market research to advertising and promotion, this degree focuses on all parts of the process before concentrating on a particular area of study.
Good news for marketing graduates! If you did not know yet, marketing is an essential aspect of all types of businesses, from all sectors of activity. Thus, all of them rely on marketers to promote and sell their products. A high market demand comes with many job opportunities available.
According to Labor Department Findings, graduates with a marketing degree can earn 98% more per hour than the ones working in the industry without having a specialised degree.
Furthermore, students are equipped with transferable skills, such as excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, planning, data analysis and so on, that can be used in other industries too.
Marketing degrees can be studied either as Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). The major difference lies in the presence of more scientific and technological aspects, which are commonly seen in a BSc rather than a BA.
Like most degrees, marketing courses last between three and four years, depending on the university. However, there are institutions which give students the possibility to do a two-year associate’s degree – also called a ‘foundation’ degree.
Even if graduating from both degrees qualifies candidates to work in this industry, a Bachelor degree has higher chances to lead you to well-paid jobs.
The university is all inclusive with excellent educational programs. All its courses and activities help the students prepare for life after university. The university offers great courses and opportunities for students studying in the programme. Along with that there is constant help from its management.
View moreOverall I am extremely happy with the decision that I made when deciding to come to UOL.
However, I feel like the teachers should listen more to the students regarding the group work plus it was noticed by a significant amount of students that some teachers did not seem insightful about the subjects that they were given and it was difficult to communicate with them.
My experience at the University of Leicester was pretty good given the circumstances of the past two years. The university does really good in welcoming new students and making them feel at home in their first year of studies. The main campus is nice and the new Student Union building is a fantastic place to hang out with your friends between lectures. The library is modern and available 24/7, which is convenient if you like to have long study sessions. MY programme is delivered in an easy to understand way, but sometimes the assignment we are given pile up because they have really close due dates. The city of Leicester is wonderful going out and very culturally diverse. My overall experience in the university is very good.
View moreThe University of Leicester is a diverse university with multiple nationalities and ethnicities so a new student would never feel out of place. The students and staff at the university are very friendly so it is easy to approach people and create a bond with them. The staff is always there to help the students whether it is about education, jobs or personal life. The university has services for almost everything a student could ever need. The university also has multiple societies available for students to join where they can get to know more people based on similar interests or ethnicities/nationalities. Studying a marketing degree at this university has been of great advantage as the assignments are based on real-life work which would be done in an actual internship or workspace. I would highly recommend this university as it is a good place to be at.

View moreThe University of Leicester is an amazing university where I have been able to gain a great experience so far, in terms of education and social life. I have learned about new cultures and made friends from all around the globe. The location of the university is great, it allows university students to get to the city centre by a 15-minute walk. As well as this, the accommodation provided by the University of Leicester is very welcoming. As well as good security, there are many events such as cafe night, arts and craft evenings and cooking events; these are a great opportunity to socialise and destress from university work.
