Embarking on a journey to pursue a career as a dietitian is both exciting as well as challenging. As a first-year student studying a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Surrey, I’ve had the opportunity to immerse myself in this dynamic field. One of the most appealing aspects of studying at the University of Surrey is the well-rounded curriculum which has allowed me to dive into diverse concepts both practically and theoretically. This programme covers a wide range of subjects, including biochemistry, food science, physiology, and public health. Alongside the courseworks the programme highlights the emphasis on clinical placements as well as research opportunities. As a student, I have had the chance to collaborate with renowned faculty members in cutting-edge research projects and immersing myself into practical experiences which allow me to expose myself to real-world scenarios and hence develop my professional skill set. Undeniably, studying Nutrition and Dietetics requires great dedication and commitment to cope with the demanding and substantial workload. Even though the comprehensive curriculum may be an advantage, it limits flexibility to chose elective courses. Taking into consideration my experiences so far, I would wholeheartedly reach this programme to any future students who are passionate about the field and are willing to take up a challenge and be prepared for a rigorous academic journey to pursue their dream career. Despite the challenges, the programme’s robust curriculum, research and clinical placement opportunities make it an excellent choice for dedicated students seeking a career in Dietetics.

Student residences are clean, modern and well maintained. They are well organized on campus, with halls on the Stag Hill campus located very close to the Union and Lecture Blocks.
I graduated in Surrey. Very cool in terms of the environment. Huge ease of making friends especially if you are international as there are so many events. I used to go to all the French, Portuguese, Spanish events because I loved the food and the people.
View moreHello. I studied in Surrey until 2021. I really liked the teachers were very friendly. I really liked the format of the exams. We had a combination of group assignments, essays, tests, multiple questions and exams. This allowed students to choose their options in order to have the best results. very cool
View moreI’m quite happy to have studied in Surrey. Surrey will always be my home. I will miss this university very much. I recommend without thinking. My advice is that you choose a university where you imagine you will be happy and don’t just focus on the classes
View moreI really liked. Surrey is one of the best universities in the world for nutrition. This is something that is noticeable from the first moment. The course is designed to achieve a 100% employability rate. In the first year, the vast majority of students got a spring internship and ended up receiving an offer for a summer internship. Surrey also offers the opportunity to undertake a placement year. I did mine in Portugal. I really enjoyed it and it was fundamental in my personal and professional growth. I’m graduating in two weeks and I already have a contract signed. Surrey was more than a university for me, Surrey and a second home.
I’m just sad thinking how in two weeks’ time I’m leaving Surrey. I will always be a proud Surrey student. Forever:
Forever Surrey!!!!
