Every undergraduate or graduate at the University of Durham receives access to a world-class assistance program designed to promote their academic development, and the institution also provides incredible facilities. I am convinced it to be the top educational institution in the world.
View moreDurham University, whilst boasting it’s incredible academic successes, creates an environment of strong community and a real sense of living in a home away from home, mainly due to the impressive collegiate system. English Literature, as well as being one of the leading courses in the country, is a course that allows students to delve into areas they enjoy and takes away any limitations on genre or era with a wide scope of optional modules and a dissertation that gives student complete control over what they research. I’d recommend Durham University to any Literature student looking to deepen their love of literature in an academically thriving environment supported by incredible academics!
View moreI would definitely recommend it, it is a very interesting course and the staff is great, extremely knowledgeable and all so willing to help. I’d definitely recommend using their office hours as this is what I felt like I should have done more. I would have liked a broader course as a lot of the beginning stuff focused on the classics but third-year really let’s you find your own niche and explore what you’re specifically interested in (which for me was gender and modern international texts)
View moreDurham University is one of the best leading universities for English Literature. It was for this reason why I applied. Commonly known as the University for Oxbridge rejects, it is not a bad thing. In terms of location, Durham is far from the South – which is where many students here originate from. The academic side of the Uni is a solid 5/5, the nightlife 3/5. If it weren’t for the collegiate system the Uni would not be as unique and quirky.
