My university, Essex university! Was full of amazing people and I made lots of beautiful connections there. I would recommend this place to students looking for a balance of community and study. There weren’t many dull days and you could always find something to get involved with on campus.

My particular department had so much variety in modules and guest lectures you were given a well-rounded view of a topic. I studies in human rights, art, sociology, and psychology was even given the option of micro and macroeconomics.

My degree was in International Relations and it was very fulfilling for me. I choose the degree but I was indecisive. I had so many interests and International relations encompassed and aligned with these. It weaved philosophy, political science, political theory, sociology and history really well. My favourite modules were power and rhetoric, British political parties and political theories. The module taught me how to write well. To build arguments, to analyse complex ideas in a way that is creative, and has character but maintains an academic tone. All of my professors were very attentive and passionate. It’s why I got a first-class in my dissertation because my dissertation professor believes in my ideas and the paradigm I found.

I would recommend the course , because you learn about society, and the theoretical framework in which countries operate within and how this affects our lives.

The program is diverse in content and modes of education, it provides grounds for professionals and personal development. Teach is delivered with professionalism and care for the students’ wellbeing, also the modules are well-structured and presented. The campus area is cosy, clean and preserved. The student union organization strives to ensure inclusivity for all students, regardless of their origin and background. The university should focus more on delivering modules which provide opportunities for internships and placements, especially in the Government department.

First of all, I would like to highlight that the University is built in an amazing location – just a few minutes away from the famous Wivenhoe park. The structure of the university is unique as well; it is divided into several squares, where you can find everything from lectures halls, study areas, restaurants and leisure areas.
University has its own accommodation, which is super close to the university as well – always a plus especially when you want to sleep as long as possible.

When it comes to the quality of studies itself, as a person who did both BA and MSc at this uni, I can confirm that the lecturers are the top specialists in their field! Moreover, the University of Essex is known for its emphasis on quantitative methods, which is highly valued among employers.

Overall, this is uni is great for a person who wants to experience various multicultural backgrounds, amazing student life and get an outstanding degree!
