    The real university of Chester

The university itself is lovely, the location is amazing and most of the university is great. However I will warn people that are thinking of going to this university that the student support and assignment aid is dreadful. I contacted student support multiple times are they did not help much at all. On top of this, and the worst experience for me by fair was my dissertation. To give an overview of the situation, I sent my proposal in early 2026 and had completed dissertation in may 2026. I did not approve of my grade, due to markers giving reasons for loosing marks such as not having tables, where I had 15 tables in my work, and many more vague reason for loosing marks. I contacted my supervisor for the dissertation for a discussion of my mark and he directed me to the head of the dissertation module, who emailed me saying I could not dispute my mark just because I didn’t agree with my grade, even though I said I believed it was a failure to follow their own policy, which was a valid reason for a remark. I was left completely in the dark, with no one bothered to help me. On top of this, I find out that a lecturer in my area of study stating that they would publish a piece of writing that was the exact same as my work. Overall, the university is a lovely place to be, but be prepared for the staff to not help you, and rather hinder you.

Behaviour and support of staff and well being team

As a current student at the University of Chester, I feel compelled to share my experiences and impressions of this institution. Having spent a year here pursuing my BA (Hons) in Business Management, I believe I can provide valuable insights into the university’s academic, social, and overall environment. The University of Chester offers a diverse range of academic programs, and I have found the faculty to be knowledgeable and approachable. Professors demonstrate a genuine interest in their subject matter and are readily available to answer questions and provide guidance. The smaller class sizes have been advantageous, allowing for more personalized attention and fostering a sense of community among students and faculty. The campus itself is picturesque and well-maintained. The blend of historic and modern buildings creates a unique atmosphere that adds to the overall charm of the university. The library resources are comprehensive, and the study spaces are conducive to productive learning. The university provides various support services to help students succeed academically and personally. The careers and employability team are proactive in assisting students with their career goals, offering guidance on job applications, CV writing, and interview preparation. Additionally, the counselling and well-being services ensure that students have access to the support they need during challenging times.
I would highly recommend the University of Chester to prospective students looking for a nurturing and academically sound institution that values student development both inside and outside the classroom.

Small place really good for studies. Less distractions

Generally a good univeristy very conveinient as you can walk pretty much everywhere. To add the people are very friendly and the living costs are not as bad. However, I did realise that there was a lack of diveristy as well as International student presence.
