As a student, there is always something to do and new people to meet, there are endless events, and it has one of the best student Unions in the whole UK. It works to a high level and is well respected but does not expect the impossible and is very understanding. I do sometimes feel there is a lack of communication within the administration of the university. I am additionally very upset about the cut to the foreign language department as this was my area of study and thought it was great. Such a loss.

Studying Modern Chinese, the lecturers are all native Chinese/Taiwanese but ensure their language skills are perfect in order to teach us.
They check their emails constantly, including out-of-office hours, in order to make sure that we (students) remain happy and up-to-date with the workload.
Overall I couldn’t recommend Cardiff University’s School of Modern Languages highly enough.
