Globalisation strengthens the connection between companies from all over the world. It is time people understand the importance of international business.
International business degrees are shaped to give students practical knowledge about different business management practices from all over the world. In addition, candidates are prepared for business careers abroad or in organisations that are engaged in business on a global scale.
Moreover, international business is vital in order to understand different cultures and mindsets and ultimately become a global citizen.
A degree in International Business prepares you for a job in a culturally diverse business environment, which means that any graduate can benefit from opportunities in any country.
The advantage of an International Business course is that you are highly employable for most industries since the majority of skills acquired are transferable.
Candidates studying international business will also gain information and insight about the difficulties of starting and growing businesses from different countries, something which is of utmost importance for anyone who wants to make their business thrive.
International Business is usually a three-year commitment, depending on each university. Lately, there are institutions which offer the possibility of having a ‘sandwich course’, which basically enables the candidates to work abroad for one year in the industry, as part of their studies.
The purpose of the ‘sandwich course’ is to encourage students to step outside their comfort zone and work in a different culture and environment. In this way, they will understand other mentalities, as well as gain relevant working experience in the field.
Kent Law school has been good so far but the academic disruptions (strikes) have been awful. Students are expected to continue with in person closed book exams despite missing out on learning. So many students have confessed having anxiety and concerns for their academics and mental health. The ordeal is very stressful but aside from this- the course is mostly good. There’s extra curricular things available like mooting and other lawyering skills and the content of some modules like Tort are quite compelling due to the way it’s delivered.
View moreThe university has a great library. The only thing is not all the books are updated to the latest edition. But the library is a great facility and you can virtually and digitally research any topic or subject you like.
View moreThe course I have chosen to study is highly competitive and challenging. However, the way the University has organised the course helps students to be more organised and puts us in a position to create a weekly schedule and keep up with it. Our lecturers, seminar leaders and module convenors are always there to help us with anything we struggle with throughout the course which is crucial in a University environment where hundreds of students have queries about the course.
View moreOne of the main reasons the University of Kent was so attractive to me, was because of its campus structure. It is built more like an American University than a typical European University. A very large campus with many different restaurants, facilities, and activities to do on campus. This helps create a student life and a culture, one that many different people look for in their time at University. Even from the outside, it creates a great image of the University.
View moreUKC has blown my expectations of university life. From the people I’ve met through my accommodation, through to my course and extracurricular activities. It is a haven for bettering yourself and learning new things in a beautiful and safe environment.
The academics at Kent Law School (KLS) are friendly and approachable and always are there to teach you interesting and practical modules and offer personal support. Similarly the careers team and student ambassador team are of the highest professionalism and present work in an invigorating way.
Despite the current climate, I am sure my final year ,through the people at Kent, will ensure my university experience is not hindered.
