From the moment I arrived at the university, I was immediately embraced by its positive atmosphere. Stepping into the building, I felt a surge of hope and possibility. Every step of the way, I was supported by the experienced staff and tutors at ARU, who guided me through the transition with care and expertise. Being paired with a student welcome buddy, who had firsthand experience and offered invaluable advice, made all the difference. The university’s diverse environment catered to a wide array of interests, with an abundance of societies and clubs to join. From social activities and academic resources to top-notch facilities like the super lab for Biomedical Science students and the expansive library, ARU provided everything I needed to thrive. I quickly found my place within the community by joining the Ruskin Journal Society, where I took on the role of editor and social media manager. Coupled with my involvement in campus sports, there was never a dull moment – I always felt connected, engaged, and supported.

My experience at Anglia Ruskin University has been rewarding. As a Biomedical Science student, I’ve had access to modern labs and knowledgeable lecturers who are genuinely invested in student success. The course content is well-structured, blending theory with practical applications, which has been essential for developing my skills in the field. I’ve also appreciated the sense of community, especially through societies like the Biomedical Science Society, where I’ve taken on a leadership role. Anglia Ruskin University offers outstanding academic teaching that prioritizes student success and engagement. The faculty members are highly knowledgeable and dedicated, providing insightful lectures, and personalised support to ensure students grasp complex concepts effectively.

As a second year undergraduate, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at ARU Chelmsford. They have a state of the art Super Lab, a quiet library with a variety of study areas and it is a clean, quaint campus.

There are a host of student services such as the icentre for general enquiries; residential services for accommodation; library services for help navigating the library or academic guidance; 24/7 security; ARU Temps to help students find part-time work with the university or externally and the Employability Service to help with careers.

On the course itself, the lectures are straight forward with content knowledge building upon itself every year. All content resources are posted on a student canvas site for easy access and to help with studies.

The Student Union run many events, there are lots of societies and Team ARU run sports events to join either competitively or non-competitively.
