Studying at the University of Birmingham has been unique and highly beneficial for me. I have learnt two languages as well as receiving an invaluable student experience. I would recommend my course as I was offered some flexibility within my learning and was able to choose modules such as cinema and marketing, thus making me more employable and suited to various types of future jobs. I must mention, however, that the pastoral support system could be reviewed, as emails and support requests take a lot of time to be answered. Overall, the course is invaluable and involves everything a high achieving student would want or need to know. The facilities are great and the teachers cannot be faulted either.
View moreThe University of Birmingham offered the perfect degree that allowed me to continue studying my preferred language; French and learn an entirely new one; Chinese, as well as modules in Business Management. The diversity of the degree meant I had the opportunity to learn entirely new subjects and enabled me to go abroad to study in two different countries. My tutors and lecturers were first-class and provided interesting content in weekly lectures and seminars, and supported me throughout my four years of study. The university had great resources and a beautiful campus and the city centre is also nearby for anything you could want or need.
View moreMost of the time the experience was decent. My experience was let down by a poor range of module choice in the languages department. I’d have loved to study more literature and culture and was frequently encouraged to do so, but there wasn’t a single module I was interested in remotely, despite having some fairly mainstream, common interests.
