Unfortunately, during my second year of my English and Creative Writing degree, disaster struck with the pandemic meaning that our course would be strictly working from our homes for the next two years. This proved to be challenging to say the least, with no safe haven of library space or tutor-support drafting and finalising a dissertation grew to be a looming, daunting task to tackle by myself. Birmingham City University tried their hardest to provide students with feedback when requested and also helped with ensuring that materials were posted to Moodle on time as they had been during the first year, before the pandemic struck. However, the lack of inter-personal relationships and checkins with tutors made the course feel isolating and assimilar to taking a course from The Open University.
