Studying at Aston University has been a rewarding experience both academically and personally. The Human Resources & Business Management programme is well-structured and combines theory with practical application. Lecturers are approachable and supportive, and the use of real-world case studies makes learning engaging and relevant. I particularly value the opportunities to work on group projects and presentations, as these have developed my teamwork and communication skills.

The university provides excellent student support services, from academic guidance to wellbeing resources, which has made settling in much easier. I was also awarded the Dean’s Prize, which shows how much student achievement is recognised here. The campus location in Birmingham is convenient, with everything close by, and there is a strong international community that creates a welcoming environment.

Outside of academics, there are plenty of societies and events that help students feel part of a community. I joined the Aston Students’ Union Events Team, which gave me hands-on experience and allowed me to connect with a wide range of people.

One area where the university could improve is by introducing more regular updates to programme modules to ensure content reflects the latest developments in each field. Additionally, creating more opportunities for students to gain practical experience, even through volunteering, would help bridge the gap between theory and practice.
