Our laboratories and experienced professors in our school help us in every subject. We have some good student clubs to work with. We can improve ourselves with them. Today’s coronavirus has affected us just like any other school. Since our school was formerly connected to the Anatolian University, it has survived this process with the least damage by using the old open education experiences. As an example, we made the electrical circuit laboratory on the online platform. If you want to study engineering in our school, very successful teams are waiting for you as well as the very nice clubs. You feel that you are developing yourself with such activities.
View moreEskisehir Technical University (formerly known as Anadolu University) is a brand new university whose roots go back to the 2000s. The engineering faculty is mostly focused on quality and accreditated by MUDEK. (MUDEK is a full member of ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education). All programs have a EUR-ACE certificate. In my department(Electrical and Electronics Engineering) program is 100% English taught. Professors speak English all the time(of course with some exceptions like no foreign students present) and exams are 100% English. Department is known for its rich laboratories. Most of the department related courses have mandatory laboratories. There are 6 options to focus at 4th year: Power Systems, Signal Processing, Telecommunications, Digital Systems, Control Systems and Electronics. There are several mandatory courses for each minor area and some flexibilities for taking courses from other areas too. Before graduation, 240 ECTS and bachelor project/thesis should be completed and it is highly examined by the advisor and also by faculty because of accreditations. It is mostly hard to pass exams without studying so students should be prepared to study a lot.
View moreNormally Eskişehir is not a big city in Turkey but it has 3 universities. So students constitute the majority of the population in this city. Also my own view this city is most livable city in Turkey.
View moreFirst of all, Eskisehir Technical University doesn’t feel like a university if you completely separate it from Anadolu University. We don’t have any cultural activities, fortunately we can attend to the ones in Anadolu University. These kind of details are not that important of course since we just separated from Anadolu University, but they are still heartbreaking. As a computer engineering student, I am definitely not pleased with my lecturers. Even the good ones have to teach things out of their interests, because there are no other people to to it. This effects them and us. We usually prefer studying at home to attending to our lectures. My other problem with lecturers is that they usually don’t speak in English. And I find this really rude against the foreign students. Also, most of the ones who speak in English are only reading slides. Even as a student I’m trying really hard to develop my English and pronunciation. Although Eskisehir is a perfect city for students to live, we usually have to spend our times in our campus because it’s a bit far away from the city center and busses aren’t enough. When we have spare time, like three or four hours, we want to go to a cafe but we can’t. This might sound bad but it’s actually like that because we have an airport in our school. That’s why we have to be away from the city center. I may not be happy with engineering faculty teachers but Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics is really good and we are famous with that. I love that our campus is not huge, but still big enough for us. We don’t have a very very good looking campus but we do have some interesting sculptures around buildings.
View moreI’m a third year industrial engineer and I’ve studied in my first year of university. I have to talk about the preparation of instructors equipped and knowledge about training methods. Foreign teachers are also developing education. The preparatory class is also difficult to pass the exam. I highly recommend your training .____ You will be very satisfied with the city. Eskişehir is a cheap and insightful city for students. Easy to get to .____ School transportation is very easy from the city center. You can reach the campus in 15 minutes by bus K4. Also within walking distance of most places in town. It takes more than half an hour to reach places like Sazova Park and Kentpark. A mathematical chapter. You can graduate as a good industrial engineer. Currently, graduates work well in international companies. _International facilities are generally good. Mevlana, Erasmus etc. There are programs. Although there are 8 Erasmus agreements in the Department of Industrial Engineering, the facilities abroad are very good. There are more agreements in the computer and electronics departments. The student clubs are active and there is a serious student club culture at Eskişehir Technical University. They do a great job and I recommend the EESTEC Club. They also offer overseas opportunities.
View moreI have been in Eskisehir for 4 years and I am studying at Computer Engineering for 3 years. I think I have enough information about city, social life and life oppurtunities.
I came from Ankara which is capital town of the Turkey and I went another big cities in Turkey such as İstanbul, İzmir. I can easily say that Eskisehir is the best city for students in Turkey. After getting used to city, you can find many social activities easily. In addition, If you are not familiar to living alone you can find many places to eat.
Compared to all city facilities, my thoughts about the university are not very nice.
If I need to start good side of the university, campus life is well. The students are very comfortable to socialize. Second one, the travel time is OK. It takes 15-20 min from the city centre. There are some bus routes which goes different locations in the city. Such as K4,M4, 63 or 55..
In addition the refectory is pretty good. You can eat three meals a day which cost is 1.25TL for each of all.
But transportation is not good although transport time is short. There is only one bus from the city centre which is kırmızı 4. Somedays you might wait more than 20 minitus.
I would say another problem is education. Education is not bad at the university but it’s inadequate. The prep school can’t eduacate sufficiently English languate. So If you can’t speak English you might have problems when you start the engineering education.
According the schulude, education language is English in my department. But some lecturers speak every time. Except those other lecturers, they have a good pronunciation which can be understandable for the foreign students.
View moreAmazing team with an amazing leader! I love these guys! They work so hard and they teach so many great things. They are very lovely too! I will definitely stay in contact with them! Recommending them with all my heart!
View moreFor those who don’t know, Eskisehir Technical University was part of Anadolu University until it was separated in 2018. So I just wanted to highlight that it was not formed in 2018!
to review this university I will consider some other things also and rate them(out of 5):
-The city of Eskisehir (5/5)
-The quality of the education system in Turkey (3.5/5)
-The quality of the education system in ESTU (3.5/5)
-Student life (5/5)
-Foreign student life (5/5)
-Campus Facilities(3/5)
-Campus Location(3/5)
-Transportation to Campus (1/5)
I started my review with “Charming history … Promising future” because I believe that ESTU has a great history as Anadolu University, and as a student of ESTU I can see a promising future in the next few years.
View moreI graduated from this university before it was separated from Anadolu University. Funding was way better back then but since it is a new university now, most of the income is gone and that creates a funding/budget problem overall. Other than that, laboratories are really well equipped, the instruments are usually cutting edge technology. Some professors are amazingly successful however big portion of them does no useful research. On the other hand, even though the separation was a little too quick for the university to put everything on the new order, it will be helpful in the future and I’m sure the uni will settle on a good worldwide ranking after a few years.
