Studying EE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) in Bilkent University is for people who are totally interested in this field. Bilkent University provides a separate building (EE building) for students with different kinds of laboratories and equipment. Academic Staff at this University consists of professors having too many networks and success in this field, also having their own company which provides students the opportunity to work with them either in internship or research.
However, this department is unnecessarily hard, compared to other engineering faculties. Teachers are not aware of how to teach in an efficient way, so the only thing they know about teaching is to put unnecessarily demanding assignments, which results in the isolation of EE students from social life when they want to balance their academic and social life. This fact can be observed from the beginning of their second year at the university. In addition, EE departments are not willing to offer internship opportunities, while CS (Computer Science) students are informed about their internship opportunities from e-mail. Despite the fact that EE and CS students’ future is not really different, CS students are more relaxed among their curriculum, when EE students have to deal with lots of laboratories reports and projects. EE students have to be in laboratories to maintain their projects while CS students can deal with all of their assignments on their computers, which means that they won’t have to stay at the laboratory at night.
