Fontys University provided me with the invaluable status of being a student, which I believe is the foundation for shaping one’s professional journey. This status opened countless doors for me to build my career path. During my time at Fontys, I had the opportunity to travel to Mexico and Indonesia, as well as work with a Dutch company, gaining practical and international experience. I also participated in different events such as TEDx, conferences, and training sessions, all thanks to the opportunities available to students. Ultimately, I believe it’s up to each student to seize these opportunities and make the most of them. Fontys undoubtedly created a platform for me to grow and explore these possibilities.
View moreI studied business at the Venlo campus. For some time, I got the impression that I am not learning anything. But I am on track and obtaining tons of credits. This was very weird for me. I literally did not learn one new thing or skill. It seems I was trading money for credits. I voiced this to the director Wouter Josso, but he just does not care. He would not even take this issue serious. He just says: You will learn more things as the program continues. But I am already at the end of second year. So what is still to be learned? I can’t speak of other programs and campuses. But avoid Fontys Venlo. They seem to not care about education.
View moreI studied Informatics with the option to specialize in Software Engineering or Business Informatics. In the third year, you do an Internship and a minor (possibly abroad). Moreover, the course takes a very practical approach so students get projects from companies to solve and this is important for aspiring software engineers because they can build their portfolio whiles studying. This positions you to gain employment right after graduation (majority gain employment in <3 months). The tuition fees have almost doubled since I started so prospective students must be mindful of that.
