I believe my case raises important questions about fairness, consistency, and accountability within higher education. Despite maintaining a 7.1 GPA, working multiple hospitality jobs, contributing to Hotelschool The Hague, and completing almost all of my academic requirements, I now face losing my internship because I was unable to attend my Spanish resit after my grandfather passed away just two days before the exam. I repeatedly sought guidance, received conflicting information, did not receive the expected academic warnings, and my formal request to the Examination Committee was submitted on time but remained unanswered.

I am also concerned about what appears to be inconsistent enforcement of university policies. I have evidence of situations involving alleged academic misconduct and the use of prescription medication such as Ritalin without a prescription, as well as other drug-related behaviour, where students did not appear to face consequences. Meanwhile, I am facing a significant delay to my education and career progression due to missing an examination because of a close family bereavement. I believe this raises broader questions about proportionality, transparency, and whether exceptional circumstances and student conduct are being addressed consistently.
