This is a very good school with strong supporting systems. Faculty are incredibly high-quality and renowned. The facilities are state-of-the-art, especially the science laboratories. Great amenities on campus.

Groningen University has great facilities paired with professors who are true masters of their fields but not always as good teachers. Although it is a Dutch University it is very open and welcoming to international students.

The program consists of a strong curriculum including two internships for 6-7 months, in which students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience. Unfortunately, students are left on their own when looking for an internship. Moreover, the course coordination and quality were surprisingly bad.

I got my undergraduate degree here, including an Honours Programme. My classes of Ecology and Evolution were small, with passionate teachers. A lot of field work and lab projects, which was very enjoyable. I wish I had known my student association AEGEE(-Groningen) was already there though, which is where I became active in Amsterdam (AEGEE-Amsterdam).
