Personally, I would say there’s a reason why EHL is ranked as the best hospitality school in the world. Students receive all the necessary knowledge they need for their future careers in the hospitality industry. Additionally, the one year of work experience definitely adds credibility to that.
However, I do think that if EHL wants to promote itself as a business school as well, there are a few gaps to fill. They often emphasize how broad the career opportunities are for EHL graduates, but I believe that the courses we take provide general knowledge rather than in-depth expertise. When looking at job descriptions that an EHL graduate would theoretically fit into, I notice that many of them require specific skills and expertise in certain tools or fields, while our education remains quite broad and not very specialized.
On the other hand, we do have some truly great professors here. I would like to highlight that they not only hold impressive academic degrees but also bring valuable real-world experience, which they share generously with their students.
