The infamous CUVI microclimate: If you are studying at the main Vigo campus (Lagoas-Marcosende), get ready to live in a Galician version of Silent Hill. While it might be sunny down in the city center, up on the mountain you’ll face a thick fog, temperatures 4 degrees colder, and a lot of wind.
The transit odyssey: Relying on the Vitrasa (the city buses) to get up the mountain is sometimes hard. They are a lot of times very packed and it is not free. If you drive, finding a parking spot after 9:30 AM is an extreme sport.
Disengaged professors: Like anywhere, there are amazing lecturers. But you will also run into “old school” tenured professors who couldn’t care less about teaching, read straight off PowerPoint slides from 2012, and make office hours feel incredibly boring.
