I study Early Childhood Education at UNED and, honestly, I quite regret having chosen this option. The modality is semi-presential, which means that you can follow the classes online if you want, but that also means that there is no student atmosphere. It feels like studying completely on your own, with hardly any interaction with classmates or teachers.

Furthermore, the organisation is a disaster. The teachers often do not understand the content, they do not give feedback and it is very difficult to get answers when you have questions. The lack of communication makes everything more complicated than it should be.

But the worst thing, without a doubt, is the issue of grants. If you have the grant from the Ministry (MEC), it is very likely that they will take it away from you. Instead, they force you to accept their own grant, which is not even 100 euros, and if you do not select it, they will not let you enroll at all. It is an absurd and totally unfair situation for those of us who depend on financial aid to study. In general, I would not recommend UNED to anyone looking for a university experience that is minimally organized and with real support.
