It is one of the oldest universities in Spain and that is evident. The university is in some way the heart of Granada.
However, your experience in this university will change a lot depending on what you study. Although it has much prestige in some areas, others maybe need some improvements to be top and what people demand.
Something important that fortunately works well is the bureaucracy. The university has a good integration of the new technologies and it is easier than in other universities to do all the administrative stuff, something so pleasant.
The city of Granada is a great place to be if you are student, but everything could be much better. Wherever you go you find university students in the city. You know and feel that, even if you don´t ever meet them. The problem is that although the university organizes a lot of activies and interesting courses, not many people take them. Maybe it needs more promotion. There is interaction in the city between the university students, but not as much as it could be. Nevertheless, the city has a good focus on students and you always feel like home.
