    Studying at the USC

The “University of Santiago de Compostela” is a public university based in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia (Spain), and campus in Santiago de Compostela and Lugo.
With its more than 500 years, it is the university with the longest tradition in Galicia, and one of the oldest in the world.
Offer a large number of undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees from all areas of knowledge. In 2009, the USC has been recognized for its Campus Vida project as Campus of International Excellence by the Ministry of Education, a distinction that places it among the 9 best universities in the country.
The USC is part of the Erasmus Program, hosting more than 1,000 students from all continents each year in its facilities
Some of the faculties are located in emblematic buildings, as in the case of Medicine or Chemistry. We can also find modern buildings such as the Faculty of Communication Sciences. Other faculties do not enjoy such luck and the facilities are in a more decadent state.
Much of the teaching staff, in addition to teaching, participates in research activities, which implies that they are in continuous training … However, in my experience as a student of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, I have perceived that the teaching staff, despite If you are very nice, you need to renew yourself and be more aware of the reality that is experienced every day in a classroom of an ordinary school. In my case, I think the training I received in this faculty could be of higher quality, but I think it is the general trend of any faculty of Education Sciences in Spain, not something exclusive to USC.
The best thing about studying at the USC is that Santiago is considered a “student city” and enjoys a great cultural offer, which, in addition to attending classes, cultural and leisure activities are assured. On the other hand, the number of pilgrims who arrive every day in the city make Santiago a multicultural city, which enriches the stay in this city. In any case, studying in Santiago is a fantastic life experience.
