A business cannot survive if its products are not marketed in the proper way. Luckily for all the businesses out there, the number of candidates wanting to pursue a marketing career is growing tremendously.
The aim of this degree is to help students anticipate, manage, and satisfy customers’ needs and wants. By doing so, they will be able to effectively communicate the benefits of any business product to the targeted market.
Due to the fact that marketing is a complex industry, which tackles many areas ranging from market research to advertising and promotion, this degree focuses on all parts of the process before concentrating on a particular area of study.
Good news for marketing graduates! If you did not know yet, marketing is an essential aspect of all types of businesses, from all sectors of activity. Thus, all of them rely on marketers to promote and sell their products. A high market demand comes with many job opportunities available.
According to Labor Department Findings, graduates with a marketing degree can earn 98% more per hour than the ones working in the industry without having a specialised degree.
Furthermore, students are equipped with transferable skills, such as excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, planning, data analysis and so on, that can be used in other industries too.
Marketing degrees can be studied either as Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). The major difference lies in the presence of more scientific and technological aspects, which are commonly seen in a BSc rather than a BA.
Like most degrees, marketing courses last between three and four years, depending on the university. However, there are institutions which give students the possibility to do a two-year associate’s degree – also called a ‘foundation’ degree.
Even if graduating from both degrees qualifies candidates to work in this industry, a Bachelor degree has higher chances to lead you to well-paid jobs.
Terrible experience with MSMK! I was scammed, and MSMK doesn’t want to refund my advance payment. I was treated unfairly, especially by the director. He was absolutely rude and arrogant. He acted with a complete lack of professionalism. My name is Daniela de La Rocque and I’m Brazilian. I was living in Brazil in 2019 and, at the time, was looking for fashion courses for Madrid in 2020, while my husband took the opportunity to take a course in his sector. I contacted MSMK through the Director of Admissions who has always acted as MSMK’s representative. Thanks to his insistence and persuasion, I enrolled in the Master’s in Fashion and Luxury Marketing. From the outset, according to the special terms of the contract, I would have to move my family from Brazil to Spain. It was impossible to maintain the contractual conditions due to the various preparations and costs we would have to incur, including a deadline for planning the trip, applying for a student visa, and other necessary procedures to make the trip possible, including managing the rental. In negotiations with the Director of Admissions, it was agreed that if the course could not be held, we would receive a full refund.
After arriving in Spain, I visited MSMK to tour the facilities, and the MSMK staff agreed to help me obtain an extension for my student visa. During this visit to MSMK, we spoke with on-site representatives about visiting the school. This occurred while we were waiting for classes to start. However, shortly after, the COVID-19 pandemic began, and everything changed. The MA in Fashion and Luxury Marketing Management was canceled and postponed to a date yet to be determined, after the peak of the pandemic. We had to remain in Spain due to travel restrictions, and this dragged on for several months. While it was still possible, we went to MSMK and communicated our request for a refund due to these issues. We informed the Director of Admissions, who was responsible for providing the refund. As this response was taking a long time, we returned to MSMK when we were informed that the Director had been dismissed from MSMK and was no longer on staff. Completely helpless, we requested a meeting with the Administrative Director and then another meeting with the General Director. It was at this meeting that his attitude was completely unprofessional, arrogant, rude, and authoritarian. I’m sorry, but he’s a complete idiot. The first meeting at the MSMK office was on January 30, 2020, with the Director of Admissions. He confirmed that the refund would be issued as agreed, but mentioned that a 15% penalty could be applied. This wasn’t what was agreed upon, but it should have been the total, but we agreed on it at the time.
While we were waiting for a refund from MSMK, a few weeks later we learned that the previous Director who had left MSMK was apparently fired!
I went to MSMK to resolve the matter, but they were repeatedly evasive, didn’t respond properly, and didn’t indicate who we should speak to. After several attempts, they informed us that they had spoken with the supposed Director of MSMK. As I mentioned, the meeting with him was terrible, rude, arrogant, and completely unprofessional. According to the person accompanying us, the Director behaved like a scam artist. In short, before leaving Spain, we filed a complaint through the OMIC (National Institute of Statistics and Census). Incredibly, as of October 2025, it has still not been resolved.
According to our lawyer, the MSMK, through this ridiculous director, is offering €1,500 in compensation for the €4,000 owed. Absurd! Not to mention that we had to pay for our round-trip travel and rent for an apartment in Madrid, all so we could attend the course.
It’s incomprehensible that a lawsuit takes so long to resolve!
In reality, we should receive compensation of more than €10,000.
This is the reality. We have a MSMK that disrespects and even harms foreign students. It’s flawed in every way. They act like SCAMMERS, especially in the person of its director.
View morethis university toots it’s own horn both figuratively and literally, but i’ll toot it a little bit more. the staff? nice, lectures? comprehensive and informative, the student body actually listens when you suggest something. which has got to be the most amazing thing about this school.
