The communications program at IE is extremely focused on marketing. Which I guess makes sense because it is part of the Business School. First year has some classes focusing on creativity but from there it’s just corporate, advertising and marketing which is a bit sad. There is no deep dive into any of the creative realms – they try to cover a lot of different topics but do so very superficially. I finished my third year feeling lost and without deep knowledge in any field (because I don’t like marketing). Some few professors were REALLY good and some most are just experts in the industry and cannot teach at all.
