After one semester at IE University doing the Business and International Relations dual degree, I can say that, first, the faculty there is amazing. Not only do the teachers want to help you succeed, but the university’s wellbeing team is also very supportive in case of need. Secondly, the community is very international, and the student life in Madrid is very active. Additionally, there is a large number of choices in terms of extracurricular activities, and the school’s facilities are great. The university also guides students towards a lot of internship and job opportunities throughout their time there.
However, since the school is mostly oriented towards teaching Business Administration, I felt that the International Relations part of my degree was lacking some depth. For example, during my first semester, history and political science were only assessed on the basis of multiple-choice questions, which, in my opinion, are not suitable for the field. I thought there would be more essays and critical thinking exercises. Nevertheless, it might have been because it was only the first semester. Lastly, even though the school offers a wide range of degrees, amenities, and opportunities, I do think that the program remains very expensive.
