The UDC is not a bad choice to start your studies, personally I can only talk about the field of health and, more specifically, nursing; for which it is one of the best choices in Galicia. The nursing degree is taught in a different campus from the main one at the UDC, in Oza, which enjoys a great location between the hospitals and Juato next to the port and the beach (perfect to relax in your free time); The one that is so close to the hospitals provides comforts when it comes to clinical practices (since in several courses they will be simultaneous to the classes). The facilities, even if they don’t seem so from the outside, are up-to-date, and it has a cafeteria with a quality of food that stands out. As for teachers, as everywhere, there is everything and much is by taste, although it is true, they have changed since I finished my studies, in general a good memory.
In all the study program of the udc there is mobility both national and international, of which I cannot speak since I have not done it.
In the main campus, Elviña, where most of the degrees are, they also have a sports center with a special discount for students, which is quite good. The urban transport communication is not bad on the main campus, I cannot say the same for the Oza campus, especially if you live on the outskirts of the city.
I finished my studies two years ago, and there has been a global pandemic involved, so things have changed anyway but, in general, I encourage you to choose, in my case, the University School of Nursing to start your studies.
Last year I graduated in Nursing from the A Coruña nursing school.
As strengths of the career, I would mainly highlight the practices in the hospital, it is rotated through a wide variety of services (hospitalization, critical care, operating room, primary care) which allows you to know and know where you want to guide your training in the future. Furthermore, the campus is located in Oza, near the city center and a five-minute walk from the hospital.
On the other hand, I would mention the evaluation system that is used in some subjects since a grade higher than five is required to pass it (7, 7.5 …) so that sometimes a subject becomes more complex than it could. be.
In summary, it has been a good experience and I would recommend it to future students.
