It has been enlightening and rewarding to pursue my BCom in Financial Accounting at North-West University’s Potchefstroom campus. I consider my academic experience, which has equipped me with priceless information and abilities in the field of financial accounting, as I get closer to graduating in 2024.

The broad and well-structured NWU BCom curriculum in financial accounting. A broad range of topics are covered in the program, from fundamental accounting principles to advanced financial management strategies. The faculty members are not only subject matter experts in their domains but also passionate educators who demystify complex financial concepts and make them approachable.

One of the strengths of the program lies in its practical orientation. Real-world case studies, simulations, and projects have provided opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios. The BCom Financial Accountancy program has not only equipped me with technical proficiency but has also instilled in me a sense of analytical thinking, problem-solving, and ethical responsibility crucial in the financial industry.

North-West University’s Potchefstroom campus has been a nurturing environment for academic and personal development, and I am proud to be part of an institution that values excellence in education and prepares students for success in the dynamic world of financial accountancy. I look forward to applying the skills and knowledge gained here as I embark on the next chapter of my career.

It is a place like home, everyone is treated equally, lecturers are patient with students and they have all what it takes to do well in Academics, for example , writing center, counselling , mentors, facilitators and so much more. What i like about North West university is that i had so many opportunities , being a tutor during my first year, and in my 2nd year being a student assistant, an academic mentor and looking forward to being a facilitator in 2nd semester in my 2nd year 2024.I encourage myself by saying i can do all this part time work to help students and also do excellently well in my studies with determination.
-I don`t like the fact that some of my lectures are in Afrikaans and it confuses me but its not discouraging at all , like i said determination.
– I will highly recommend NWU , a place of academic excellence, a place like home .

My career development reached a turning point when I graduated from North-West University (NWU) in 2004 with a BCom in Accounting and Business Management. The goal of NWU’s program is to give students a strong foundation in business management and accounting, enabling them to pursue successful jobs in a range of sectors.

My perspective of the financial world has been molded by my transforming experience studying for my BCom Honours in Accounting and Finance at North-West University. As a 2015 graduate, I would want to offer an overview of this program in case anyone is thinking about attending NWU.

The university is just amazing nothing to complain about, they have good learning materials and the material is easier to understand , they have fun activities to welcome first years to feel comfortable.

I will highly recommend this institution . It has the ability to make great people , where you soar in greatness . With resources and support services available at all time. students have no excuse to complain about facilities . They are top notch.

North-West university surprised me more than anything. All expectations were superseded, resources abundant and opportunities ever present, could not have asked for a more engaging experience.
A must go place to navigate the “real world” in a safe environment.
