My NWU experience so far has been difficult to adjust and the professors were good and helpful. Time management also helped me to keep going and focused on my studies. Campus life can be challenging but having a postive mind will help you to keep going.
View moreBack in 2012, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration from North-West University. The program gave me a solid understanding of all things HR, from recruitment and training to employee relations and compensation. The professors were knowledgeable and practical, making the classes interesting and engaging.
I especially liked the focus on South African labor laws and regulations. This gave me a big head start in my career, as I felt confident navigating the legal side of HR right from the beginning. The program also offered opportunities to participate in simulations and case studies, which helped me apply what I learned in real-world scenarios.
While I graduated over a decade ago, the core HR principles I learned at North-West University have definitely stayed with me. The program prepared me well for my HR career and gave me a strong foundation to build on.
View moreI would highly recommend this university to anyone who is determined to focus and achieve good grades. The lectures are excellent and very welcoming to assist students with any difficulties, especially during the first year.
View moreMy time at North-West University’s Potchefstroom campus has been a transformative journey, shaping my understanding and passion for Human Resources (HR) and Labor Relations Management. Completing my BCom in HR and Labor Relations Management in 2023 was a pivotal moment, and continuing with a BCom Honours Postgraduate Degree in HR in 2024 has been a natural progression in my academic and professional pursuit.
NWU’s Potchefstroom campus stands as a beacon of academic excellence and innovation in the field of HR. The BCom program provided a robust foundation in HR and Labor Relations Management, covering diverse aspects from organizational behavior and strategic management to labor law and industrial relations. The faculty’s expertise, dedication, and guidance were instrumental in broadening my knowledge base and instilling a deep understanding of the complexities within the realm of human resources.
The curriculum’s practical relevance has been one of its strongest suits. Case studies, industry projects, and internships offered invaluable hands-on experience, bridging the gap between theory and real-world applications. Engaging with industry professionals and participating in workshops enriched my learning experience, providing insights into current industry practices and challenges.
NWU’s commitment to holistic development extends beyond academics. The campus environment fosters a sense of community and inclusivity. Participating in various student organizations, clubs, and extracurricular activities not only complemented my academic journey but also honed my leadership skills and expanded my network within the field.
The decision to pursue a BCom Honours Postgraduate Degree in HR at NWU this year was driven by the desire to deepen my expertise and specialize further in the HR domain. The opportunity to engage in advanced coursework, research projects, and specialized modules has been incredibly rewarding. The university’s resources, including libraries, research facilities, and expert faculty, have provided an exceptional platform for academic growth and exploration.
The support system at NWU, comprising both faculty and peers, has been invaluable. Professors offer mentorship and guidance, encouraging critical thinking and academic rigor. Collaborating with fellow students in group projects and discussions has fostered a stimulating intellectual environment and forged lifelong connections.
As I embark on this new phase of my academic journey, I am grateful for the solid foundation and opportunities provided by North-West University in Potchefstroom. The education and experiences gained during my BCom and now pursuing an Honours Degree have not only equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge but have also ignited a passion for continuous learning and growth in the field of Human Resources. NWU remains an institution that values academic excellence and fosters a culture of innovation and personal development, and I am proud to be part of its legacy.
I currently study industrial psychology and i believe it’s a good course here at nwu, i would recommend future prospective students to look into due to the broad job opportunities. As i speak, i am considering in doing honours either in my course or human resources. This course has opened my way of thinking and I’m grateful for nwu
View moreI like that there are different races and people from different cultures. quality education is offered but what i would like to see improve is the way the school handles the finances in terms of distributing it on time.
View moreOne of the best university and the experience is nice, the only negative thing is that the lectures are moving too fast during lessons somewhere don’t hear or understand anything. But the experience is very nice.
View moreIt’s a good university in many respects. It really depends on what you want to study and the campus you choose. It is one of the best university.
I like the university because of the atmosphere.
I do not dislike anything about the university.
Yes, i will recommend it for other people.
Being a student at NWU has brought so much light into my life and brighten my path of life, with so many support facilities and help all round. Unfortunately, most of my lectures are in Afrikaans with translation to English, it gets so confusing and boring with translation as the sound from the lecturer and the translator can be heard. Though this is entirely not an excuse to fail but it should be looked into . Because of this students, miss lectures and thereabout struggling to catch up with work load on their own .
But I must say NWU is a place to be who you want to be , if you want to be seen , you can make it happen . Remember , it all starts here at NWU.
Nwu is a good uni for undergraduates, not really postgrads. I personally will not be continuing my degree after my undergrad due to other universities having better facilities. But if you’re interested in a small, safe uni, I would recommend
